Obituary

Funeral services for Tony Alfonso Williams will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, at 2 pm at First Thankful Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 5 to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin and Garvin Funeral Home in Estill, SC.

Tony Alfonso Williams, fondly known as "Tony", was born on November 11, 1962, to Dora and Woodrow in Furman, South Carolina. Tony received his high school diploma at Estill High School, graduating in 1980. He was a member of First Thankful Baptist Church in Estill, South Carolina. Tony moved to Newark, New Jersey in the late 80's where he began working in masonry with his older brother, Edward Smith Sr.

Tony later moved to Plainfield, New Jersey to continue his craft in masonry work. He would later meet, fall in love, and marry Jeannie Collins, and they would go on to have a beautiful daughter named Breanua. She was the apple of Tony's eye and the love of his life. As a father, he was ever present and celebrated all of her many successes as the proud father he was.

Tony was a member of the Local 4 Bricklayers Union, as well as, the sole proprietor of Tony Williams Masonry. In his free time, he enjoyed watching basketball and proudly held the title of the Los Angeles Lakers' number one fan.

Tony is preceded in death by his mother Dora Ellen Williams, father Woodrow Jones, and siblings: Edward, John Henry, George Jerome, and Shirley Ann.

He leaves fond memories with the following: His daughter Breanua Williams of Branchburg, NJ. Siblings: Dorothy Howard-Lewis (John) of Matawan, NJ, Eula Williams (Amos) of Estill, SC, Barbara Warren (James) of Humble, TX, Josephine "Dollbaby" Mitchell (Matthew) of Pineland, SC, Ulysses "Mack" Williams (Hazel) of Newark, NJ, and Thurman Williams (Sherrie) of Allentown, PA. His second mom, Idella Smith-Bynum of Atlanta, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
