Mr. Rudolph Daniel Perkins III, age 73, of 573 5th Street Estill, South Carolina died early Monday morning, February 3, 2025 at his residence. As a young man, he served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Rudy was born on January 17, 1952 in Concord, New Hampshire. After his time in the service, he graduated from college in California and spent many years helping others as a Respiratory Therapist. He spent his retirement in Estill, a town he grew to love dearly.

Mr. Rudy was a brilliant musician. During the 70's and 80's, he lived in Southern California enjoying the 'rock star' lifestyle. He played guitar, bass, banjo, steel guitar and pretty much any other instrument he could get his hands on. He wrote music, sang, toured and taught, amassing a wealth of incredible friends and stories.

A wicked sense of humor and a talent for fearless adventuring led Mr. Rudy all across the United Stated. Whether skiing, hunting and fishing in his birth state or boating and offshore angling in the sunny waters near Tampa, Florida, he led his family down a road always filled with laughter, love and memories in the making.

His greatest pride and favorite accomplishment in his life were always his family. His loving wife and devoted partner of over 41 years, Brenda, stood by his side throughout it all. His daughter, Amy and son Rudy IV will be forever grateful for the love given and lessons taught. His four favorite, beloved and only grandsons inherit a legacy of laughter and wonderful memories which they will cherish.

He went peacefully in his own bed holding the hand of his love and knowing that he hadn't missed out on a damn thing. Who could ask for more than that?

He joins his parents Rudy and Marilyn and brothers Tom and Greg. Left here to remember him are two sisters: Lynn O'Sullivan (Mike) and Deb Moore (Dave). a daughter: Amy Hunt (Jeff) and a son Rudy Perkins IV (Holly) of Statesboro, grandsons: Bo Hunt, Will Hunt, Quin Perkins and Henry Perkins, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

A small private memorial service will be held at the home of Jeff and Amy Hunt in Garnett on February 10, 2025
