Funeral services for Mrs. Mary White will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 2
pm at First Estill Baptist Church with burial in the Furman Holiness New Church of
Christ Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 5
to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin and Garvin Funeral Home in Estill, SC. Mrs. Rose
Mary White, better known as Aunt Rea by her family and friends was born in
Jasper County, South Carolina on March 20, 1954 to the late Elijah and the late
Lydia H. White. Rose was a member of First Estill Baptist Church and she was a
1972 graduate of Estill Training School. After graduation she relocated to
Manhattan, New York. Having worked for many years, she retired and relocated
to her hometown of Estill, where she resided until her death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: A niece/daughter-Vonzetta (Kenneth) Strong,
Estill, SC. Granddaughter-Shatavia Strong, Greenville, SC. Two sisters-Delorise
Wilson,Estill, SC and Annie Richardson of Manhattan, New York. Brothers-Harold
(Adaline) White of Walterboro, SC and Edgar Smith of Florence,SC. Special thanks to Bertha Bostick and Gloria Sanders.
