Funeral services for Mrs. May Bell Sanders Brooks will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11 am at Goodwill Baptist Church with burial in the Crossroad Cemetery in Estill, SC. Family hour will be held Monday from 6 to 8pm at Thompson Chapel CME Church in Estill, SC. May Bell Sanders Brooks peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 5, 2018 at Hampton Regional Medical Center in Varnville, South Carolina. She was born on January 12, 1923 in Allendale County to the late Warren Sanders and Ira Bell Wilson. At an early age she married Marion Brooks. To this union they were blessed with eleven children. May Bell was a lifelong member of Thompson Chapel CME Church where she was very active particularly on the choir. Often others requested her to sing particular songs. She was preceded in death by her husband-Marion Brooks of 63 years. Daughters-Dorothy B. Jones, and Althia Brooks (died as an infant). Sons- Leroy Brooks, Gerald Brooks (died at age 11), and Ronell Brooks (Pop).

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: Children: Marion(Kathy) Brooks, Jr. of Estill, SC; Maner Brooks of Garnett, SC; Lula Brooks of Estill, SC; Kathy(Richard) Johnson, Hickory, NC; Rudolph(Angela) Brooks of Luray, SC and Allen(Stephanie) Brooks of Luray, SC. 44 grandchildren,94 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Siblings-Mary Riley of Huntington, New York and Melvin Sanders of Luray, South Carolina. A special recognition to Clenzo Jones and Marco Brooks who were reared in the home and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
