Funeral services for Mr. Leroy Stokes will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 11 am at Ebenezer New Life Ministries in Luray, SC. Public viewing will be held Monday from 4 to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin and Garvin Funeral Home. On January 14, 1950, Leroy Stokes was born in Hampton, South Carolina to the late Elliott Stokes and Elouise Robinson Stokes. He transitioned from this life to his eternal rest on April 6, 2022. Leroy attended Allendale County school and moved to Jersey City, New Jersey in 1969 to begin a new life. In December 1969, he married Richardean Bostick; they raised five daughters from this union. Leroy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and joined Clifton Baptist Church, where the late Rev. J.J. Fields was Pastor. When he moved back to Estill, he reconnected with his home church under the leadership of Rev. Johnnie Fryar. In 2016, he joined Ebenezer New Life Ministries under the leadership of Rev. Carl Stokes, where he served as a faithful supporter of the ministry until The Lord called him home.

Leroy is survived by his devoted daughters: Dawn (Tyrone) Tyler of Englewood, New Jersey, Tracy (Rodney) Capers, Moneshia Stokes, LaDeidra Stokes, and Shakira (JosephMurphy)Garvin, all of Ocala, Florida; Three brothers: James (Carol) Stokes, Carl (Mary) Stokes, and Daniel (Janis) Stokes; Two sisters: Gloria Maxwell, and Brenda Hairston; Three brothers-in-law: John Bostick, Jr, Herbert Bostick, and Timothy Bostick; Six sisters-in-law: Wilhelmina Bostick, Mary Ann Green, Marshall Garvin, Georgia (Craig) Beckett, Bertha Bostick, and Josephine Bostick; One aunt: Greta Reid. Eight grandchildren: Tania Stokes, Elijah Tyler, Brianna Eady, Darius Capers, Trinity Eady, Deyonna Roberts, Kaden Roberts, and Kordel Garvin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends Amos Floyd(cousin) Jackie Eady, and Jonathan Roberts.
