Mrs. Josephine D. Lewis was born on February 6, 2016 to the late Stephen and Mary Albright Duncan. She was a 1957 graduate of the Fairfax Training School. She was joined in marriage to the late Matthew Wayne Lewis and was blessed with two children, Travis Wayne Lewis and Carol Josephine Lewis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew and daughter Carol. Mrs. Lewis passed away on August 31, 2016 at Candler Hospital, Savannah, Ga..

She is survived by her son: Travis W. Lewis of Rochester, N.Y.; two sisters: Shirley A. Garvin of Philadelphia, Penn. and Rosa Duncan-Heyward of Estill, SC; four brothers: James Albright of Brooksville, Fla., Oliver Duncan of Freeport Long Island, N.Y., Maybank Duncan of Estill, SC and John Duncan of Philadelphia, Penn; special godchild: Mr. Terry Taylor of Plant City, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Burial will follow in the Solomon Crossroad Cemetery, Estill, SC.
