John Duncan was born June 19, 1947 to the late Mr. Stephen Duncan and the late Mrs. Mary Albright Duncan. He attended Fairfax Training School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became baptized member of Goodwill Baptist Church, Luray, South Carolina.

He was united in holy wedlock to Ms. Doris Blackson. To this union they were blessed with four children, Kevin Duncan, Aaron Duncan, Martin Duncan and Susan Duncan Mitchell all of Philadelphia, PA.
The death angel sealed his lips and closed his eyes in death on Monday, October 10, 2016.
John Duncan is survived by his children; Kevin Duncan, Aaron Duncan, Martin Duncan and Susan Duncan Mitchell; Two sisters-Mrs. Shirley A. Garvin of Philadelphia, PA; and Mrs. Rosa Duncan Howard (Ita) , of Estill, South Carolina. Three brothers-Mr. James Albright of Brooksville, Florida; Mr. Oliver Duncan of Freeport Long Island, NY; and Mr. Maybank (Bertha)Duncan of Estill, SC. A devoted companion-Ms. Earnestine Williams; A special friend-Ms. Lowe Beckett Myers; and a special nephew-Mr. Enix (Lump) Garvin of Philadelphia, PA. A host of nieces, nephews, and loving cousins.
