Funeral services for Mr. Jay B. Brown will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11 am at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Estill, SC. Public viewing will be held Friday, January 14, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin and Garvin Funeral Home.

Mr. Jay B. Brown was born on September 25, 1939, to the late Phillis and the late Esau Benton. He was educated in the Hampton County School System. He became a farmer and decided to move to Washington, DC where he lived and worked for 20 years. He later decided to move back to Hampton County and took a job on Hilton Head Island at Builder 1 ^st Source and worked there until he retired. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his residence in Estill, SC.

He was preceded in death by his only son Harry Johnson and his loving wife Rosen Jenkins.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Four Grandchildren-Christopher Lewis and Corey Lewis both of Furman, SC; Jamie Lewis of Bluffton, SC and Tabitha (Marcus) Orr of Richmond Hill, Georgia. Daughter in Law-Rose Johnson of Furman,SC. Two sister in laws-Virginia Lewis and Lillie(Sammy) Doss. 10 great-grandchildren. One Brother-Daniel Brown of Columbus Georgia. Two special Cousins-Sidney Bowman and Eugene Grayson. A best friend-Flint Wright and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and care taker-Helen Bush.
