Services for Iverlee Taylor Cohen will be held Saturday, November 14,
2020 at 10 am at First Thankful Baptist Church. Public viewing will be held
Friday, November 13, 2020 from 4 to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin and Garvin
Funeral Home in Estill, SC. Iverlee Taylor Cohen lived a life that was
exemplified by SERVICE, LOVE, DEDICATION, and COMMITMENT- to her
God, her husband, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her siblings,
her extended family, her church and her community. All who knew her loved
and respected her. On Tuesday afternoon, November 10, 2020, she transitioned
this earthly life and gained eternity in the Kingdom of God.
Iverlee was born on January 6, 1923 and was the eldest child of Herbert Lee
Taylor and Victoria (Celia) Bolden Taylor.
TWO sisters, Thelma Taylor Murphy and Annie Mae Taylor Smith preceded her
in death.
Iverlee accepted Christ as her Saviour at an early age. She joined First Thankful
Baptist Church where she was a life-long member and worked tirelessly for many,
many years on the Usher Board and in later years as a Deaconess. The Usher
Board was truly her special place at Thankful and she served in the capacities of
Secretary, President and Mother to the Usher Board.
She also loved attending the Old Ashley Baptist Association gatherings and
looked forward to her annual fellowship trips to Johns Island.
She married Willingham Cohen, Sr. who was the love of her life, on February l,
1942. Her devotion to him was unwavering and God granted them more than 78
abundant years together.
The joy that she always exhibited and the special relationships that she had with
all of us will remain in our hearts forever. Her eldest child, Franklin Louis Cohen,
preceded her in death just three short weeks ago (October 17, 2020).
Those who remain to rejoice in our memories of her are: her husband, Willingham
Cohen, Sr., Pineland, SC. children

Lorraine Cohen Lee, Charlotte, NC; Eleanor O. Martin (Donald), Columbia, SC
and Jarome Cohen (Gail), Clarks Hill, SC. Siblings: Albertha Taylor Farmer,
Estill, SC and Richard Taylor, New York, New York.
Grandchildren: Franklin's Children: Roswell, Victor, Karen, Lisa, Rolonda,
Shalonda, Amber. Willingham Jr's: Sharon, Syreka. Ernestine 's: Donna. Lorraine
