Funeral services for Mrs. Iolar Spann will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11 am at Gillison Branch Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin & Garvin Funeral Home in Estill, SC. Mrs. Iolar Green-Spann peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 4, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Iolar was born on March 2, 1935, to the late Herbert Ishmael Green and Sadie Cradditin, in Jasper County, South Carolina. She united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Freddie Spann, Jr., and their union was blessed with one son. Mrs. Iolar was a member of Gillison Branch Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed. "Sister", as she was fondly called by all who knew her, loved serving the Lord. She was also a loyal sports fan of Estill High School and attended many basketball games. She leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving husband, Freddie Spann, Jr; two sons, Freddie Spann, III and William Taylor; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
