Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Spann, Jr. will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at
11 am at Martin Temple CME Church with burial in the Gillison Branch Baptist
Church Cemetery in Pineland, SC. Public viewing will be held Friday, March 2,
2024 from 4 to 7 pm in the chapel of Garvin and Garvin Funeral Home.
Mr. Freddie Spann, Jr. born in Hampton County on September 17, 1930 departed
his life on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in Colleton Medical center in Walterboro,
SC. He was a combat veteran in the Korean War. He was also a member of Martin
Temple CME Church where he was the "Father of the Church".
"Sunteen" as he was called by his loved ones enjoyed playing his guitar for
different gospel groups.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Two sons-Freddie (Demetrias Gamble) Spann,
III and William (Lottie Mae) Taylor. Two grandchildren-Freddie Spann, IV and
Devonte Latham, One brother-Curtis Spann. Two sisters in law-Rose and Catherine. His angels of care-
Debbie, Jacqueline, Shirley, and Sarah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins' and other relatives and friends.
