Dora Ellen Fair-Williams was born on July 14,1928 to the late John Henry Fair, Jr and Rosa
Ennis-Brabham in Furman, South Carolina.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony in 1947 to the late Ulysses Williams Sr. Dora joined First
Thankful Baptist Church, Estill, South Carolina. She attended school in Furman, South
Carolina and later returned to school and received her high school diploma at Estill High
School in 1982.
Dora was employed at Magnolia Upholstery, Hilton Head, South Carolina for fifteen years.
And at the Estill Assisted Living Facility, Estill, SC for several years.
Dora was the proud mother of eleven children. She was preceded in death by three sons,
Edward, John Henry and George Jerome, and two brothers.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: Dorothy Howard-Lewis (John), of Matawan, NJ,
Ulysses M. Williams Jr. (Hazel), of Newark, NJ, Eula Williams (Amos), of Estill, SC, Barbara
Warren (James), of Humble, TX, Shirley Ann Williams, of Houston, TX, Tony Williams, of
Plainfield, NJ, Josephine, Doll Baby (Matthew), of Pineland, SC and Thurman (Sherrie), of
Allentown, PA; one sister: Ada Williams of Pineland, SC; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren,
honorary son, Harry Furman (Ruthie), of Furman, SC; one honorary daughter, Idella; on six honorary grandchildren; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
